As Patrice mentioned, last year I learned that preparation is key to fasting successfully. It just helps to avoid scrounging, last minute cravings, and bad food choices.
I once had a vegetarian friend who told me that she needed to eat more vegetables (in addition to tofu, veggie burgers, etc). I could relate last week, when most of the food I ate was in the same color family: beige! Obviously, I wasn't eating enough vegetables.
This week I'm trying to mix it up by adding colors. I've become addicted to the Target grocery section, enjoying their wheat pastas, frozen fruit slices, and 100% juices. I also stumbled across the new soul food place in the Bowie Town Center food court. Their leafy collard greens were delicious.
Cheers,
LaWanda

Welcome aboard! :-)
I agree that last week for me wasn't as green as I would have liked it to be. This week I am also making a conscious effort to eat more veggies. I welcome any recipes because otherwise it will be salads all the way!
LaLa!!!!! Hi and welcome!
People keep telling me I need colorful veggies too...like orange, red, yellow and such. However, I don't much veggies that are those colors. I don't like tomatoes, carrots I only like cooked in a stew or some kind of dish, and what's yellow? Bell Peppers? No way! I don't eat those either. Actually Squash is yellow but that's not happening either. So needless to say, I eat more green veggies than anything! Since everyone commented on the broccoli and garlic sause, that's what I'm having for lunch today!
Corn is yellow, so you're good there!
