I made a slight miscalculation and went to the movies without realizing that popcorn and Icees are as much a part of my moviegoing experience as the movie. I was there, alone...who would know? I mean, technically, I can have popcorn. Still, I knew the popcorn I can have wasn't the artery clogging, salt-fest served at the theatre. I didn't think about it too long because I may have found the right button to push. I saw my movie, sans popcorn. I felt good! It was only God and I and neither of us had a reason to feel guilty.
To reward myself, I found some legal pancake mix and plan on adding pineapple, blueberries, cinnamon, and honey. I dodged a bullet in the theatre and I'm going to make it to Jan. 22, one battle at a time.

I know what you mean because I'm at a house warming/birthday party right now and they sang happy birthday and they brought a strawberry shortcake and it looked soooooo good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The rest of the food smells good too!!!!!! However I'm good because I didn't give in and I'm about to leave and go home and eat some fruit and probably some peanuts. HA! I'm doing it!!!!
Watch out devil!!!!
You're good, Miguel. I managed to convince myself that movie popcorn is okay to eat. I guess I should have know I was wrong if I had to convince myself. Anyway, although I'm hundred of miles away from Md and NV, I've decided to participate in the fast. I'm glad this blog was created b/c it will at least give me some encouragement to continue.
lol @ Patrice.
I'm proud of both of you! It's tough when you get no help from other people. I can imagine how tough it is when you're not even in the same state. We're glad to have you, Liz. You're still family no matter where you live :-)
Liz Beth, now you know better! You need to go and pick up a bag of popcorn kernels and pop your own popcorn! LOL Just joking but at least get the kind that's not soaked in that delicious butter. I got some nerve, I don't even eat popcorn.
Anyway, this weekend turned out to be pretty okay. I had veggies, fruits and a number of meat alternatives. Even while watching the game on Saturday I had healthy snacks while my dad ate butter pecan ice cream and chips.
A chef at the church made some Corn and Potato chowder and it was so good. It taste like it had some chicken in it but clearly it wasn't. Me and some very beautiful women went and got our hair done on together on Saturday after rehearsal. Today Camille made me try italian sausage made out of tofu....and it was da bomb! Pastor Crawford preached a great Word today! I gotta tell ya, I'm growing and I have nothing to do with it! It's all God. I'm just excited about everything God is doing. I'm also enjoying blogging with you guys. I looked forward to this week.
